Sartre: L’homme est condamné a être The Libertines

A few days ago, I got the best news I've had since I've come to Australia. My favourite band, The Libertines, from London, England, announced that they'll come to play in Sydney in February! I was almost shouting in Domino Pizza when I saw the news on twitter.

The band is one of the most important British bands in the 00s, like Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian. The band was formed in 1997 and broken up in 2004 after releasing two brilliant albums. They're also very popular among indie kids in Japan, but there is a rumore that they can never come to play in Japan. Why?

The frontman, who is famous for dating Kate Moss in the past, Peter Doherty, used to be a junkie. He has a criminal record for abusing heroin. It makes it hard to get visa to come to play in Japan. Like any other country in Asia, Japan is very strict on junkies.

I'd always wanted to see them when I was a high school student but there was no means to see them because I had no money. After entering university, I tried to save money to go to England just to see them. In 2015, my dream came true. I went to Reading Festival to see The Libertines! The band has finally reunited that year and released a brand new album!

3 months after seeing them in UK, I was in Hong Kong to see the band again. Hong Kong was not as strict as Japan for Peter... I'm jealous. They were just amazing. The next time I see The Libertines, it'll be the third time I've seen them. It must be wounderful to see them with Aussie audiences! I can't wait!
